About Us
Final Flight Outfitters Inc. has transformed from a modest mail-order operation into a premier destination for high-end waterfowl products. Founded in 1998 by brothers Jon Ed, Tripp, and Kelley Powers, the company started in a storage trailer but has since grown into a 25,000-square-foot showroom. This expansive space now offers a comprehensive range of outdoor gear, including firearms, ammunition, decoys, footwear, hunting accessories, and casual clothing. The company’s rapid growth is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and deep connection to the land shared by the three brothers. As graduates of the University of Tennessee at Martin with degrees in Agricultural Business, they have leveraged their education to build a business that remains deeply involved in conservation and sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally, as part of a multi-generational farming operation through other entities, Powers and Midway Farms, Final Flight Outfitters continues to contribute significantly to the agricultural community.
Over the years, Final Flight Outfitters has expanded its reach substantially, mailing over 100,000 catalogs annually to hunters in 40 states, as well as in Canada and Mexico. This growth in distribution has been matched by increased foot traffic at their Union City store, which draws customers from all corners of the country, whether by foot, vehicle, or even air. The company is also proud to have hosted nationally recognized events such as the Super Retriever Series, the HRC Grand, and the Grand American Duck Calling Contest. In addition, they host Tennessee state-certified hunter safety courses to ensure that attendees are well-prepared in safe hunting and firearm practices. Final Flight Outfitters Inc. has also been recognized as a former recipient of the TN Small Business of the Year award, given by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and was honored by Ducks Unlimited with the Outstanding Life Sponsor Award. The company has been featured in multiple digital and print publications, including Shooting Industry Magazine, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), National Rifle Association (NRA), Wildfowl Magazine, Ducks Unlimited, and many more.
Kelley Powers, one of the co-owners, has built an unmatched legacy in the waterfowling world. By the age of 21, he had already secured the World Goose Calling Championship and World Goose Champion of Champions titles, which led to his retirement from this pinnacle-calling event. In the years that followed, Kelley added victories in the International, the Masters, US Open (twice), World Open, World Team (twice), and Worldwide—achievements that no other individual has matched. He is also a four-time consecutive winner of the World Open Meat Duck Calling event. Recently, Kelley was inducted into the Legend of the Outdoors Hall of Fame in Springfield, MO, joining peers who are globally respected for their contributions to setting the standards and guidelines for the outdoor community. Additionally, in recognition of his impact, the "Kelley Powers Humanitarian Award" was established by the Liv For A Cure Foundation of Chicago, IL, and he has been honored by the Governor of Tennessee and the Tennessee State Legislature. Kelley’s influence extends to numerous outdoor publications and television productions, and he is a regular guest on nationally recognized podcasts.
Deeply committed to their community, the owners at Final Flight Outfitters have served on the boards of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce, Obion County Tourism, and the Northwest TN Fellowship of Christian Athletes. They also serve as elders and deacons in their church. They have contributed to the development of hundreds of UT Martin students through employment, instilling strong attitudes, character, and work ethic. Over the years, the company has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local and national organizations, continuously working to enhance their community.
