"Conducting Business in the Field" I hunt with the same group of guys everyday and we take our approaches very seriously regarding the manner by which we "conduct business" in the field. There is always one "pit boss," which eliminates second guesses concerning who exactly will call the shots during the hunt. This person will unquestionably lead the way in calling, meaning that he watches every movement made by the birds as they approach or circle the decoy spread. Consequently, only one person is continually looking at the birds rather than four or five pairs of eyes. Through actual experience in hunting with the same core of individuals, I can close my eyes and literally describe where the birds are and what they're doing by just listening to the calling sequence of our crew. The more experience you gain in hunting with the same crew day in and day out will dramatically increase your success ratio. Kelley Powers
